Yusuke Urameshi is the main protagonist of Yu Yu Hakusho. He is a juvenile delinquent who revived from his death after sacrificing his life to save a little boy from getting hit by a car and became Spirit Detective as a result.
He was voiced by Justin Cook in the English dub of the anime.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is the most admirable character in the series. As the Spirit Detective, he protects the world from supernatural threats such as the Toguro brothers and Shinobu Sensui. He also creates a plan to keep the Demon World in harmony by creating a democratic battle tournament in order to keep demons from destroying each other for power.
- After he was awakened by his Mazoku blood, he became one of the most powerful characters in the Yu Yu Hakusho universe to the point where he has the potential to become the demon king. He also defeated Shinobu Sensui, who happened to be an S-Class ex-Spirit Detective who possesses Sacred Energy, a very rare ability. Furthermore, Yusuke is able to combine his Spirit Energy and Demon Energy during his battle with Yomi, which creates a unique form of energy similar to Sacred Energy.
- He is one of the most influential characters, as he makes friends out of most of his enemies to the point of being able to keep Spirit World and Demon World in harmony after a long feud by creating a democracy in which a champion of the Demon Tournament leads the demons for a period of time until the next tournament. He befriends Kurama and Hiei despite the latter being incredibly hostile towards him during their first battle.
- Despite being a poor student due to skipping school on a regular basis, he is shown to be very street-smart due to spending his time in the streets while doing so. He is also a genius when it comes to fighting, as he improves his fighting style in very creative and unpredictable ways. Additionally, he uses his basic knowledge in social studies as he creates a democracy in Demon World.
