Yoriichi Tsugikuni is the overarching main protagonist of the manga/anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
He is voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in Japanese and by Mick Lauer in the English dub.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is considered the most powerful Demon Slayer to ever live, which easily makes him qualify as the most powerful hero.
- He is one of the most influential characters in the series, as due to his invention of Sun Breathing (and indirectly all breathing styles, giving Demon Slayers the power to match demons), and him teaching it to Sumiyoshi Kamado, who passed it down generation to generation, he would have an indirect role in Muzan's defeat at the hands of Sumiyoshi's descendant Tanjiro.
- He is a very noble person, showing great dislike for violence and being gentle to almost everyone around him, and is also merciful enough to feel bad about the thought of killing his brother for the greater good. Ultimately, he failed to kill Kokushibo, likely out of mercy and because he didn't have the willpower to do so.
- While being dead for centuries before the series gives him the impression of failing the influence to other characters, it is not that much of a setback, as those characters would have been unable to perform their admirable actions without his invention of Sun Breathing.
