“ | Woody: Wait. What about Daisy? Lotso: I don't know what you're talking about. Woody: Daisy? You used to do everything with her? Lotso: Yeah, then she threw us out. Woody: No, she lost you. Lotso: She replaced us! Woody: She replaced you! And if you couldn't have her then no one could. You lied to Big Baby and you've been lying ever since! (shows Daisy's pendant) Lotso: Where did you get that? Woody: She loved you Lotso. Lotso: She never loved me. Woody: As much as any kid could ever love a toy! |

~ Woody, exposing Lotso for manipulating everyone around him with lies of his past. |
Woody Pride is the main protagonist of the Toy Story franchise. He is the former leader of the Toys who, after reuniting with Bo Peep, would go onto join her in becoming a Lost Toy.
He is voiced by Tom Hanks.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- As the former leader of the toys, that gives him slightly higher power than the rest of the heroes in the series.
- He is the series' most influential character, as he was not only the one to kick off the main conflict of the first film, but every movie after. With some of his most notable actions being that of reforming Buzz Lightyear, and turning him into the Pure Good character he is today, recruiting Jessie and Bullseye into joining his family, saving the rest of the main cast from Sunnyside Daycare and putting an end to Lotso's reign of terror and bringing them all together with Bonnie's toys by indirectly convincing Andy to drop them off at Bonnie's house rather then donate them to a charity.
- Despite starting off as a villainous protagonist, at the end of the first film, he would redeem himself and go onto become a competent leader to the toys who treated everyone with respect and while he retained a couple of corrupting factors, they never overshadowed his heroism or selfless actions.
- He is shown to be very intelligent, successfully masterminding a plan to save Buzz from Sid Philips with Sid's other toys, repeatedly changing his schemes whenever they face trouble and being the one to plan the prison escape from Sunnyside Daycare, which was almost flawless. Even when the escape ultimately failed, he managed to convince Lotso's lackeys that Lotso was a manipulator by revealing his past of actually being loved by Daisy rather then thrown out like he claimed and that they should betray him rather then continue to work with him, showing he can think on his feet.
- He is incredibly admirable for saving Buzz and pulling him out of his depressive slump to become a noble Pure Good hero, being willing to give up his life so that Jessie, Bullseye and Stinky Pete wouldn't be forced back into storage, rescuing his family from Sunnyside Daycare, putting an end to Lotso's reign of terror and returning Sunnyside to its former glory as a heaven for toys where no one ever died again.
