The boys

The Boys is an action-drama superhero-satire TV series that started in 2019 and is produced by Eric Kripke and streamed on Amazon Prime. It takes place in a world where superheroes are essentially celebrities whose jobs are being upstanding protectors of the people, thought that is mostly through PR and or staged. Though in reality, most of them are selfish, immoral and corrupt. The main "heroes" of the show are the The Seven, which are a team of seven of the most powerful or famous superheroes managed by Vought International, the main villainous pharmaceutical organization of the show responsible for manufacturing and distributing Compound V, a chemical that gives powers to anyone. The show centers around a group of vigilantes known as the Boys, who take up the responsibility of protecting civilians against superheroes that abuse their power by punishing the superheroes, and who are the archenemies of Vought International.

The admirable standard of this show is low considering the number of villains and morally grey characters in the show, compounded with the fact that the Boys are criminals and most of the supes are villains, though there quite a few genuine heroes as well. As the show is still ongoing, there is no definite TUG as of now, though there are a few potential candidates.

Potential Candidates for the Ultimate Good[]

Annie January[]

Starlight

She is one of the main protagonists of the show, formerly Starlight, a heroine with electricity-based powers, and joined the Seven in the beginning of the show. She is a Midwestern Christian young woman who went into the Seven with dreams of genuinely helping others and serving as a beacon of hope but left due to how corrupt the organization was and due to a traumatic experience upon joining. She is one of the most influential and resourceful heroines in the show, as she was able to garner thousands of people in her support as Starlight, as well as starting the Starlight House raising millions of dollars to support at-risk children. She maintains her status as a role model for young women throughout Seasons 1 to 4, calling out the Deep who assaulted her, being named Hero of the Year in Season 2, and having high ratings as Starlight in the Seven, and even retaining most of her support and leadership status in the Starlight in Season 4 after leaving the Seven and joining the Boys. She is also very powerful, as she was able to take on Stormfront with Queen Maeve and Kimiko in Season 2, playing a significant role in defeating her for good, and with the help of Queen Maeve was able to stop Soldier Boy from killing everyone in Season 3, and was able to take down both the Shapeshifter and Firecracker each on her own in Season 4. She also acted as the moral compass of the Seven frequently in her attempts to stop Homelander repeatedly. All of these acts make her one of the most admirable characters in the show as well. Her status as a role model and symbol for young girls makes her a beacon of light in the Boys.

In Season 4, however, she loses most of this popularity and influence, as well as the Starlight House, due to Firecracker dragging her name through the mud on social media on her abortion, her past actions against Firecracker as a pageant competitor when she was young, beating up Firecracker on live television and getting kidnapped by the Shapeshifter. As of the end of Season 4, she and Hughie are on the run, so her arc is still going. However, she has not lost any nobility or admirability, so she is still a possible candidate for the Ultimate Good.

Hughie Campbell[]

Hughie

Hughie Campbell in Season 1

He is one of the main protagonists of the show, joining the Boys after his girlfriend was killed by A-Train and he was approached by Billy Butcher in his workplace. He started out as an ordinary young man who wanted to sue Vought for their role in his girlfriend's death, but gradually grows to become one of the most capable, intelligent and resourceful characters who is one of the most prevalent threats against Vought, being a key reason for why the Boys is able to prevent Vought from their various schemes, such as killing Translucent in Season 1, stopping them from sending several boxes of Compound V to other nations in Season 2, or carrying out missions to regulate Supes in the area while working with Victoria Neuman in Season 3, and preventing Tek Knight from having his prisons used for dissidents in Season 4. He is very adept with technology and infiltration, and was able to avoid getting killed by Homelander quite a few times and also played a key role in Annie being able to stop Soldier Boy in Season 3. While he did have a heating up period in Season 3 on taking too much Compound V because of his insecurities on not being able to play a more direct role in saving others, he is still one of the kindest and noblest characters in the show, as he often acts as the moral compass of the Boys, tried to stop Butcher from giving into his revenge and darker impulses, was willing to help Neuman protect her daughter in spite of her horrible actions and how many people she killed, was able to get over his insecurities and still play a role in saving others with his infiltration and technical expertise, and generally tries to avoid violence. His father's rampage as a result of taking Compound V was due to Hughie giving it to him, though it was to save his father's life.

While Hughie's arc is still going, he fails slightly in influence. He fails to Starlight owning the Starlight House and having the ability to help more people all across the world, Butcher for leading the Boys and having a more direct role in fighting Homelander, and Grace Mallory for starting the Boys and by extension the whole story to begin with. However, he and Starlight are on the run now, with Homelander having the government under his control, both of them having lost most of their influence, though their arc is still going and they may have a chance to stop the supe virus from being spread all across the world, destroying humanity, still giving him a chance to become the Ultimate Good.

She is the first and former leader of the Boys, responsible for starting the organization due to Vought's actions in World War II, and inspiring Butcher to join, making her one of the most influential characters in the story. She is admirable, as she
