Theodore Jasper "TJ" Detweiler is the main protagonist of Recess.
He is voiced by Ross Malinger then Andrew Lawrence after season 1.
Actions & Characteristics[]
- He is the most admirable character, as he created the plan to stop Dr. Benedict from creating a permanent ice age all over the world in order to ban summer vacation forever. This makes Dr. Benedict a global threat and if it weren't for T.J., the entire world will suffer forever for the rest of their lives.
- As the leader of the Recess Gang, he has the second most power and influence in the playground and the student body in general, next to King Bob.
- He is the influential character, as he brings out the good out several of his enemies, including Randall Weems despite how much he gets him and the gang into trouble. He even challenges King Bob's tyrannical rule on the playground and reminds him that every student are in recess for fun and friendship, not to be bullied or bossed around. He also convinced the Board of Education to place back the playground equipment after they removed it from the school when they were reminded of the joys of participating in recess during their childhoods. T.J. also lead the students, teachers and staff into battle against Dr. Benedict to stop his plan of creating an eternal ice age.
- Despite not being very book-smart, he is shown to be rather strategic and a excellent problem solver, as he acts as a judge when Spinelli was accused of hitting Randall with a rock, which is something she didn't do. He is also wise beyond his years as he gives his friends and enemies mature advice about how to your their lives to the fullest, value the people who deeply care about them the same way they care about them and understand that most things don't last forever and to always treasure the good memories in one's life.
- T.J. is also very cunning as he is very clever in creating hilariously elaborate schemes to get himself and his friends out of trouble.
