Sonic the Hedgehog is the main protagonist of the franchise of the same name. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with super speed who spends his days protecting Earth from threats, such as Dr. Eggman.
He used to be voiced by Meg Inglima which was in the first speaking role of his in Sonic's Schoolhouse. He was voiced by Ryan Drummond from 1999 to 2003. In 2005, Drummond was replaced by Jason Griffith. The role was kept until 2010, which was when he got replaced by Roger Craig Smith, who has voiced Sonic ever since. In Japanese, he has been voiced by Junichi Kanemaru since 1998.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Despite having an arrogant and jerkish side, Sonic has consistently proven himself to be one of the most selfless and noble heroes within the series, with him constantly risking his own life in order to save the world from the clutches of many nasty baddies, such as his arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman.
- He is easily the most admirable character in the series, with him saving the world, and even the universe countless times from many dangerous threats such as Dr. Eggman, Solaris, and The End, with him always succeeding in doing so and managing to save countless lives time and time again.
- In his base form alone, he is already proven to be incredibly capable thanks to his high strength, durability and speed, with the only characters rivalling him in raw strength being Shadow the Hedgehog and Silver the Hedgehog, as well as some of the eldritch beings. When he goes Super, he becomes even more powerful, managing to take down threats to the universe and even time and space itself.
- He serves as one of the franchise's most influential characters thanks to the fact that he is constantly saving the world and inspiring other character to be the best versions of themselves, such as Miles "Tails" Prower and Amy Rose, who are both molded into selfless heroes of their own thanks to Sonic's positive influence.

Trivia[]
- Sonic resembles Crane in many respects, with the both of them serving as role models for their people and being willing to risk their own lives to do what's right, something of which other characters such as Master King even point out. This makes it incredibly fitting that the both of them qualify as The Ultimate Good though Crane lacks the corrupting qualities of Sonic.
