Rosalina is the overarching protagonist of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, debuting in Super Mario Galaxy, where she serves the same role. She also serves as the overarching protagonist of Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.
She is a sorceress in charge of piloting the Comet Observatory across the universe, caring for the Lumas as they grow up to become stars in an endless cycle. Despite her ethereal role, she often teams up with Mario and his friends on their adventures.
Rosalina is voiced by Kerri Kane.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- While she rarely directly engages in battle, she's still responsible for providing much assistance to Mario and his friends that helps them achieve their victories. One example of this is when she guided Mario to the center of the galaxy where Bowser was after restoring power to the Comet Observatory with the help of Mario himself.
- She adopted countless orphaned Lumas and raised them as they grew up to eventually become stars themselves.
- Even prior to her debut, she was confirmed to have been responsible for protecting the galaxies from countless threats numerous times in the past. While much of this is offscreen heroism, the fact that she was responsible for protecting so many lives for so long still massively helps her admirability.
- Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope has her at her most admirable. As she defended the Lumas and Rabbids from Cursa's attack (getting possessed by the entity herself in the process, but even then, managing to resist it's influences), temporarily managing to resist Cursa's control to create an escape route for Mario's team, and later helping to defeat Cursa (and the MegaBug's presence by extension) once and for all. She also revived the Sparks that were seemingly killed by Cursa. All of which debunk the previous notions of her relying too much on Fridge Brilliance to truly stand out.
- Her immense magical abilities mean that she has some of the highest resources of any character in the franchise, and she uses them to their fullest potential.
- On top of all the powers she has at her disposal, she also has vast knowledge on the galaxy as a whole, much more than almost any other character in the series. This also massively contributes to the amount of resources she possesses.
