Naruto is a manga and anime series. In this story of idealism, there are a many heroes. However, both Naruto Uzumaki and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki stand out for their notable contributions to protecting and saving the ninja world and all of humanity.
Plot[]
Naruto follows the journey of Naruto Uzumaki as he tries to get recognition from the village who despise him for hosting the Nine-Tails. He aspire to become the Hokage, the village leader, and goes on missions to understand the ninja world. In addition, he aims to save his friend Sasuke Uchiha from darkness. Along his journey he fights against the mysterious organization, the Akatsuki, and aims to try and stop them. Successful in stopping the Akatsuki during the Fourth Great Shinobi World War, Naruto and Sasuke fight and eventually Sasuke relinquishes the darkness in his heart. Since the war, Naruto and his allies aim to try and protect their world from the new threat of the Otsutsuki Clan and Ten-Tails.

Boruto Uzumaki[]
The son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga and grandson of Minato Namikaze, Boruto trained under Sasuke Uchiha to try and become a ninja different from his father. Throughout the series, Boruto has helped to confront and deal with dangerous enemies such as Momoshiki Otsutsuki, the Kara organization, Isshiki Otutsuki, Code, and the Ten-Tails. He managed to kill the powerful Momoshiki to save the world and played a role in defeating the heinous Isshiki. He intends to protect the world from the Otsutsuki and Ten-Tails threat while dealing with his own issues against his adoptive brother, Kawaki.
At the moment, Boruto's story is ongoing for him to be considered The Ultimate Good.

Jiraiya[]
The mentor to Naruto Uzumaki. Jiraiya helped to train Naruto and teach him one of his iconic techniques, the Rasengan. He trained him during the time-skip to become a stronger shinobi. He was also a mentor to Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, and helped them as well. In his final battle against Nagato, better known as Pain, Jiraiya helped divulge information to the Leaf Village about Pain to help them in their battle against the Akatsuki. In addition, he was also a powerful ninja known as a sannin who could have been the Fifth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, but turned down the position. He was able to fight alongside his enemy Orochimaru, a powerful ninja, on equal terms and managed to put up a challenging fight against Pain. When Obito Uchiha was defeated in battle during the Fourth Shinobi World War, Obito credits the deceased Jiraiya in defeating him and saving the world from his attempt to put the world in Infinite Tsukyomi. As it was Jiraiya's will and impact that helped in shaping Naruto's ideal to stand up to Obito during their battle and also helped for Nagato to accept his own humanity and turn against Obito to revive the fallen villagers.
Despite his actions and impact, Jiraiya had notable corrupting qualities in addition to not having the direct scale of impact that his student Naruto had.
Sasuke Uchiha[]
The rival to Naruto and one of the survivors of the Uchiha clan massacre. After embracing the Curse of Hatred from learning the truth behind the Uchiha Clan massacre and how Itachi was treated, eventually encountering Itachi, and learning from the Four Hokage about ideals of ninja, Sasuke decided to no longer destroy the Hidden Leaf Village. Sasuke played a direct role in fighting against the Ten-Tails army and a Ten-Tails jinchuuriki Obito Uchiha to save the world. He continued to fight against Madara Uchiha making multiple attempts to try and kill him and rejecting Madara's invitation to join his side. After Madara's betrayal and Kaguya's revival, Sasuke with the help of Team 7 and Obito manage to stop Kaguya and save the world from her. Years after the Fourth Ninja War, Sasuke continues to protect the world from the Otsutsuki threat like Momoshiki and Isshiki while working alongside his teammate and Seventh Hokage, Naruto. Sasuke stands out as one of the most powerful ninjas in the world who inherited the powers of the Sage of the Six Paths and Indra Otsutsuki making him capable of facing extremely powerful enemies like the Ten-Tails jinchuuriki Madara and Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Despite his actions, Sasuke spent a notable amount of time in the story committing villainous acts and pursuing his own goals.
Itachi Uchiha[]
A powerful ninja from the Uchiha clan and the older brother to Sasuke. Itachi intended to save and protect the Hidden Leaf Village. Through his actions, he managed to keep an eye on Obito Uchiha (whom he thought was the real Madara Uchiha) and Danzo Shimura and ensure that Sasuke was safe. He devised a plan to make Sasuke an avenger of the Uchiha clan. Since his revival in the Fourth Ninja World War, Itachi broke out of Kabuto's control of the Impure World Reincarnation technique to confront and battle Kabuto alongside his brother, Sasuke. Itachi was successful in defeating Kabuto and having him undo the Impure World Reincarnation technique to have the undead who were used as pawns return to the afterlife. An act of heroism that saved many lives and garnered the praise of the Five Kage and acknowledgement of the real Madara Uchiha. His actions and understanding of himself and wisdom has helped to push Naruto to becoming a stronger ninja and leader who would help his allies in his battle against Obito, Madara, and the Ten-Tails during the war and become the Hokage. He is noted to be a very powerful ninja that even the likes of Obito was cautious with dealing with him.
In spite of his heroic acts, Itachi committed heinous acts such as the Uchiha Clan massacre, torture via the Tsukyomi illusion technique, and participating in terrorist and criminal activity in the Akatsuki. While his actions were in service of doing good for the village and protecting the people within it, it was too heinous.
Sakura Haruno[]
A member of the Team 7. She starts off as a kunoichi who was also trying to find her ninja way. Through the course of the story she helped fight off Akatsuki members such as Sasori and Pain while trying her best to deal with the situation of Sasuke being a renegade ninja and criminal. During the Fourth Ninja World War, she continues to be of help by healing injured ninjas and providing aid to Naruto. She helped in Naruto's recovery after Naruto lost Kurama to Madara. After Kaguya Otsutsuki's revival, Sakura assists Obito in helping to retrieve Sasuke when Kaguya pulled Sasuke into one of her dimensions. She helped to save all of humanity by giving Naruto and Sasuke an opening to seal Kaguya by punching her in the head. Her efforts aided both Naruto and Sasuke in their challenging battle against Kaguya.
Despite her heroic deeds and effort, Sakura was not as powerful as her teammates, Naruto and Sasuke, to stand out on her own.
The Hokage[]
Each Hokage stand out for their heroic deeds and actions to protect the village and helped during the Fourth Ninja World War. Each Hokage are known to be very powerful ninjas with different powers and abilities that they use to do good.
Despite their heroic deeds, many of them fail to stand out in terms of scale and impact like Naruto while some also have notable corrupting qualities that Naruto and the Sage does not have.
Hashirama Senju[]
The First Hokage, who is renown as the God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju was one of the most powerful ninjas in the ninja world. He helped found the Hidden Leaf Village in hopes of creating a peaceful place where children did not have to go and fight in a war. Unlike Madara's more ruthless approach and Tobirama's more pragmatic approach, Hashirama leadership approach tried to acknowledge the fundamental good in everyone and did not want to be harsh or cold towards people in the village, especially the Uchiha clan. Over time, Hashirama prioritized governing the Hidden Leaf Village and made the hard decision of stopping the monstrously powerful Madara Uchiha in order to save the village from him. Decades and generations after his death, Hashirama is still renown as a powerful shinobi. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Hashirama battled against the Ten-Tails, Madara Uchiha, and the Ten-Tails jinchuuriki Obito Uchiha to try and save the world. As part of his compassionate and caring nature, Hashirama gives comforting words to a dying and broken Madara after the latter lost everything he worked for to betrayal and realizing that his plan was a failure.
In spite of everything Hashirama did and his virtuous nature, the scale of his actions was not on the same level as Hagoromo or Naruto. In addition, Naruto becomes stronger than Hashirama by the time the war is over and Hagoromo is also notably stronger.
Tobirama Senju[]
The Second Hokage, Tobirama was a genius responsible for many great contributions to the Hidden Leaf Village. He invented the Shadow Clone jutsu a technique Naruto often use, the Flying Thunder god technique, establishment of the ANBU black ops, and chuunin exams. He was cautious towards the Uchiha clan by studying how they are bound to embrace evil by giving them work to do via the police force. Tobirama made the ultimate sacrifice to protect his students and comrades during the First Ninja World War by facing a team of Hidden Cloud ninjas on his own. He helped to pass down the Will of Fire to Hiruzen Sarutobi to protect the village. During the Fourth Great Ninja World War, Tobirama continues to provide his assistance against the Ten-Tails and was pivotal in his battle against the Ten-Tails jinchuuriki Obito Uchiha. He also made his attempts to stop the revived Madara during the war. Tobirama stands out as a powerful and pragmatic leader and ninja who helped the Hidden Leaf Village and tried to save the world.
Despite his noble deeds, Tobirama has notable corrupting qualities such as the creation of the Impure World Reincarnation technique which would require sacrificing an individual to revive the dead as a pawn and displaying prejudicial views against members of the Uchiha clan.
Hiruzen Sarutobi[]
The Third Hokage who was also had the moniker of God of Shinobi, Hiruzen Sarutobi was one of the most powerful ninjas in the Hidden Leaf Village and the world. Having led the village during his long tenure of as the Third Hokage, Hiruzen has protected the village and helped to train the next generation of powerful ninjas, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru, known to be the Legendary Sannin. After the Fourth Hokage's death while protecting the village, the Third Hokage came out of retirement one more time to protect the village and to raise the orphaned Naruto Uzumaki. In his final battle against Orochimaru, he helped to stop the two powerful brainwashed Hokage, Hashirama and Tobirama and sealed away Orochimaru's ability to use jutsu. Brought back via Impure World Reincarnation, Hiruzen continued to be off assistance against the Obito Uchiha and the Akatsuki forces during the remainder of the war.
Despite his heroic deeds and actions, he fails to stand out on the same scale as Naruto and Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Minato Namikaze[]
The Fourth Hokage and the father of Naruto Uzumaki. At a young age, Minato was one of the most powerful ninjas in the Hidden Leaf Village and the world. He was known as the Yellow Flash for his fast speed and power making him nearly unrivaled in power. He was pivotal in protecting the village during the Third Ninja World War. Minato helped to protect the village against the Masked Man and Kurama at the cost of his and his wife's lives. Returning as an undead ninja during the Fourth Ninja World War, Minato battles against the Ten-Tails, his former student Obito Uchiha (whom he found out was the Masked Man), and Madara Uchiha to try and save the world from the Infinite Tsukyomi.
Despite his actions, he fails to stand out in scale to the achievements of his son and Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Tsunade[]
The Fifth Hokage, Tsunade led the village during the height of the Akatsuki activity. After overcoming her cynicism, fighting against Orochimaru, and returning to the village, she helped to heal Rock Lee and others and trained Sakura Haruno. She tries to protect the village from Pain and after waking up from her coma tries goes back to leading the village as the ninja world is on the brink of the Fourth Ninja World War. She acts as a motivating factor for Naruto as he and B enter the war to confront the Akatsuki forces and helped to lead the fight the powerful Madara Uchiha when he is revived via Impure World Reincarnation. Despite her and the Kage's failure in their battle against Madara, she returns to offer more assistance against the Akatsuki forces. She is also a powerful medical ninja capable of healing broken tissue and bones as she did with Rock Lee along with being a capable mentor to pass her knowledge down to Sakura.
Although Tsunade committed many heroic actions, she fails to stand out compared to the actions of Naruto and Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Kakashi Hatake[]
The Sixth Hokage and the leader of Team 7, Kakashi was a powerful and loyal ninja to the Hidden Leaf Ninja. He was renown as one of the most powerful ninjas when he was a jonin. He helped to deal with the Akatsuki such as battling against Deidara, Hidan, Kakuzu, and Pain. Kakashi managed to fight more powerful enemies such as the reincarnated Seven Swordsman of the Mist, the reincarnated jinchuuriki and Tailed Beasts, and Obito Uchiha all in an attempt to fight against the Akatsuki's plan of the Eye of the Moon Plan. After Kaguya's revival, Kakashi continues to be of assistance to Team 7 with Obito's help and helped to save the world from Kaguya with his efforts.
Although Kakashi did many heroic deeds, Kakashi has notable corrupting qualities and fails to stand out in scale and impact like Naruto and Hagoromo.
Hamura Otsutsuki[]
The brother of Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of the Six Paths, Hamura was as empathetic and kind-hearted as his brother. He helped to save the entire world from his oppressive mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, and the Ten-Tails. He is noted to on the same level of power as Hagoromo who is noted to be a god-like figure in the world.
Despite his heroic deeds, he was as proactive in the events of the story as his brother, Hagoromo, who was more proactive in the story and pivotal towards helping Naruto and Sasuke stop Kaguya.
