Mike Wazowski is one of the two main protagonists of the Monsters, Inc franchise, alongside James P. Sullivan.
He is a small, green, one-eyed monster with a wisecracking veneer who was working as Sulley's right-hand man at Monsters Inc. until a human girl (nicknamed Boo) accidentally got involved with them. During their attempt to get her back, they became embroiled in a company conspiracy to solve an energy crisis, ultimately leading to them switching from extracting energy from children's screams to laughter, which Mike accidentally discovered.
He was voiced by Billy Crystal.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is probably the most influential character in the franchise because his actions resulted in Sulley correcting his arrogant, jerkish behavior and indirectly becoming a purely good hero, and he is the one who discovered that they didn't have to scare kids for energy, and that they could make them laugh instead because it gives them even more energy.
- He is among the most admirable characters because he helped Sulley stop Randall and Henry from torturing thousand children with the scream extractor, being main factor in solving the energy crisis in the monsters world and making Monsters Inc. a company that involved making children laugh rather than scaring them, both producing a better method for creating energy in the monster world and stopping any children from being traumatized at the same time.
- Although he is not the strongest, his impressive intellect and strategy with the fact that he is the new CO-CEO of the company make him one of the most powerful characters of the franchise.
- Despite his corrupting factors such as jerkishness, arrogance, egotism, and anger, none of these hinder Mike's heroism or admirability as he chooses to be good.
