Minion: Well sir. The weapons of justice are back where they belong.
Megamind: Let's just hope the city is ready for me.
Minion: I'd say it is sir (points at the sky)
Megamind: Look! They made me my own signal.
Minion: Us. They made us our own signal (starts crying)
Megamind: Ugh. Pull yourself together Minion. Now, make a note. It needs to be a lot bigger.
Minion: Yes sir.
Megamind: Now, let's go patrol, heroically.
~ Megamind, accepting his destiny as Metro City's new hero.

Megamind is the titular main protagonist of the franchise of the same name and Ol' Chum, formerly known as Minion, is the deuteragonist of the Megamind franchise.

They are the reformed protectors of Metro City that were previously Metro Man's rivals, but after Metro Man decides to retire from heroism and a threat to the city in the form of Tighten appears, Megamind and Minion take to saving the city from him and Megamind discovers his destiny of becoming Metro City's new hero, subsequently defending it again from the Mega Megamind along with Minion and finally accepting that he should be a hero in his own way rather then doing it the same way Metro Man did.

Megamind was voiced by Will Ferrell and Minion was voiced by David Cross.

Actions and Characteristics[]

  • They were the most admirable characters in the franchise due to them playing the most direct roles in saving Metro City from Tighten, using their Brain Bots to repair all of the damage Tighten did to the city and defeating the Mega Megamind after they accidentally unleashed it to prevent it from causing any destruction.
  • They had a decent amount of influence due to them being the most active characters in the series and setting up many of the events that happen, plus them both playing the most direct roles in defeating Tighten and stopping the Mega Megamind.
  • They were some of the most powerful characters in the franchise due to them being able to create powerful machines such as the Death Ray that could completely obliterate anything with ease, having their army of Brain Bots to aid them in their goals and having several useful inventions such as the invisible car, the dehydration gun and the spider-bot.
  • They were both exceptionally intelligent with their ability to create anachronistic technology that was decades ahead of its time, long-term planning skills that they pulled off with Metro Man, Tighten and the Mega Megamind and their ability to use their disguise watches effectively to gain an advantage over others, the purest example being when Minion disguised himself as Megamind to rescue Roxanne and distract Tighten, while Megamind disguised himself as Metro Man to intimidate Tighten and make him easier to defeat, only slipping up because he accidentally said "Metrocity" instead of Metro City which only Megamind ever pronounced it as.
