Marlin is the main protagonist of Finding Nemo and the tritagonist of its sequel, Finding Dory.
He is an anthropomorphic clownfish who, after losing his wife and most of his children to a barracuda, develops control freak tendencies over his last remaining son, Nemo. It is, however, after the first film, these tendencies are loosened and he manages to become a better individual.
He is voiced by Albert Brooks.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Despite being a bit of a jerk and a control freak at times, he ultimately has good intentions and at times goes out of his way to help out those he cares about despite not needing to and it being safer if he didn't. Showing that he has a good heart.
- He has a high level of influence over the films, with his journey through the ocean inspiring many fish, he also was the one that first met and befriended Dory, making him a large reason for her admirability going forward as well as her meeting Nemo and helping him get back to his father.
- He is one of the most admirable characters in the films, with him traversing the entire ocean, almost dying several times, all with the intention of saving his son. He also played a big part in saving a large group of fish from a fishnet, stopping them from being captured and presumably eaten.
