Kannin is the overarching protagonist of the AMC series Into the Badlands.

She is the lost sister of Sunny and one of the few remaining children that survived the destruction of the mythical city known as Azra. Having been brainwashed into a mindless weapon for the Black Lotus, she is eventually freed from her brainwashing after being reunited with her brother and begins fighting to put an end to Pilgrim and his crusade to take the Badlands in the name of Azra.

She was portrayed by Eugenia Yuan. As a child, she was portrayed by Ella Bleu Kiely.

Actions and Characteristics[]

She is one of the most heroic characters in the entire series, having saved Sunny and Pilgrim from the Black Lotus when they were children and sacrificing herself in order to allow the two of them to escape. After being freed of her brainwashing, she eventually kills Magnus, the most vile antagonist in the series, and is one of the three warriors who takes down Pilgrim during the final battle for the Badlands.
She is one of the strongest fighters in the entire show, as her Gift is extraordinarily powerful and second only to perhaps Sunny and Pilgrim. Even after losing her Gift, she and Sunny are able to overpower and defeat Magnus, who is shown to be the strongest warrior in the series. She participates in the final battle for the Badlands, helping Sunny and Bajie to defeat Pilgrim, being the one who stabs the hooks into Pilgrim's back to deactivate his Gift.
By the end of the series she has potentially the highest resources out of any character, as while she does lose her Gift she leads the Black Lotus, the largest mercenary force in the entire world, and begins moving them in a better direction know that the Magnus is no longer present.
