John Silver is to be destroyed for the following reason(s):
He has a page on Heroic Benchmark wiki, and I think he fails the Admirable Standard.

Please discuss it on the talk page for this article.

John Silver is the secondary antagonist/deuteragonist of Disney's 43rd full-length animated feature film Treasure Planet, an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island.

He is the captain of a crew of alien pirates who desires to search for Treasure Planet to achieve wealth. Although Silver shows himself to be ruthless and greedy, attempting to dispose of anyone who gets in the way of his plans, he appears to have a soft side towards John Hawkins, forming an unexpected father-son type of bond with him. Thanks to Hawkin's influence, Silver was eventually able to redeem himself.

He was voiced by the late Brian Murray.

Actions and Characteristics[]

  • He is the most heroic version of Long John Silver to ever exist:
    • When John meets the young Jim Hawkins, he genuinely starts to like. He spends time with him, defends him from one of his men and calms him down when on one occasion Jim is sad and starts crying. When he became Jim's boss during the latter's time on RLS Legacy, he became a father figure towards him and formed a genuine bond with him in spite of his original motives still being present.
      • He's opposed to unnecessary violence and killing, as shown by the ire he expressed upon learning that Scroop had thrown Mr. Arrow into a black hole.
      • Unlike most versions of John Silver, he actually likes Mr. Arrow and is an anti villain.
      • He saved Jim from falling to his death.
      • He forms a genuine bond with Jim, as opposed to the empty flattery and lies he feeds him in the book, and ultimately sacrifices what's left of the treasure to save Jim's life and the crew from getting killed in the explosion which makes him pass the admirable standards.
      • He is the most tragic version of John Silver.
    • He's also very powerful thanks to his cybernetic transplants as well as his intelligence to formula plans and being a competent leader for his troops.
