Harry James Potter, known as the Boy Who Lived, is the titular main protagonist of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter franchise.
He is a wizard who survived an attempted murder by an evil dark wizard named Lord Voldemort as an infant, leaving him with a distinctive lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. Harry's survival, coupled with the prophecy that surrounded him and Voldemort as revealed by Sybill Trelawney, led him revered as one of the legendary figures by many in the Wizarding World (the other being Dumbledore and Voldemort himself) where in his case, as the Chosen One who is prophesied to defeat the Dark Lord.
In the films, he was portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe.
Actions & Characteristics[]
- He is one of the most admirable characters, as he is ultimately the one who defeated Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters, saving both the wizarding world and muggle world from their reign of terror for decades.
- He is one of the most powerful wizards in the series. As is prophesied by Sybill Trelawney, Harry is the Chosen One, a legendary figure that possessed the power to challenge and ultimately destroy Voldemort, one which Dumbledore confirmed to be his ability to feel and be empowered by love — an aspect the Dark Lord incapable to grasp. He also manages to face Lord Voldemort in person on two occasions and finally kill him for good.
- He is one of the most influential characters, as he created Dumbledore's Army at 15 years old. After Albus Dumbledore's death, Harry took up his legacy and manages to inspire the whole world to fight back against Voldemort after years of fear of him. His act of defeating Voldemort ushers an era of peace the world hadn't experienced for more than a decade.
- He is one of the most noble heroes in the series. He has a loving, kind and gentle heart, extending friendship to others most of the time and always treat others of all statuses and races equally. Despite having access to Voldemort's thoughts and powers, he was never seduced by the Dark Arts or desired to obtain any power like Voldemort having, refusing to be corrupted by Voldemort's influence. While he could be arrogant, wrathful and rude sometimes, they are minor mitigating factors that don't hinder the fact that he is mostly incorruptible.
