Flik is the main protagonist of A Bug's Life. He is an inventive misfit ant who hires a group of circus he thought are warriors to defend his colony from a gang of grasshoppers who are fearmongering them into giving them food. He is also the archenemy of Hopper and eventually the King of the Ant Colony after he marries Princess Atta.
He was voiced by Dave Foley.

- He is undoubtedly the most admirable character, as he has the courage to save Dot and Francis from the bird who attempts to eat them despite his own fear of birds. He also created the idea to create an artificial bird to scare off Hopper and his gang.
- He is the most influential character in the film, as he inspires the ants to stand up for themselves against the grasshoppers and the Circus Bugs to step up to be heroes.
- He also taught Dot the value of patience and growth in pursue of her chance to fly.
- He influences Princess Atta to believe in herself as a leader on her journey to become Queen of the Ant Colony.
- He is undoubtedly the most intelligent character, as he creates various inventions from grains and grass, including a telescope composed of a blade of grass and a waterdrop and a megaphone made of a grass and a twig. He even goes as far as to create an idea of an artificial bird out of leaves and twigs.
