Queen Eclipsa Butterfly, also known by her title Eclipsa, the Queen of Darkness, is the overarching protagonist of Disney Channel animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil. She is the 29th and 38th queen of Mewni, who is the "black sheep" of Butterfly family, due to being the only Mewman to not despise monsters, but actually being fascinated with them.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- She's the most influential hero of the story, as her marriage to the Globgor and birth of Meteora led to a new branch of Butterfly family that started from peasant Festivia, with her bloodline causing the creation of Miss Heinous and as well as the events of the entire series, even being involved in her redemption and Star renouncing her throne to Ecplisa, putting the world in an era of peace.
- Out of all Butterfly family members, that played major role in series, Eclipsa is the only one not to be inconsistent and/or corrupt, like the reckless Star, controlling Moon and especially the sadistic and extremist Solaria.
- While her destruction of magic is what makes her inconsistent, even that was done out of genuine believes to protect the world, with plenty of protagonists agreeing that magic ultimately brought more harm than good.
- She's one of the most powerful protagonists in the series, displaying one of the strongest magical abilities in family and creating plenty of powerful spells, including the one capable of killing immortals.
