Euphemia the ultimate good

The Ultimate Good of Code Geass.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is anime series produced by Sunrise. It is directed by Gorō Taniguchi and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by Clamp. The most admirable heroes in the series are highly inconsistent in heroism, being mostly morally gray anti-heroes and extremists, with Euphemia li Britannia as an exception who is both noble and admirable enough to meet the TUG criteria.

Plot[]

Code Geass's story starts with Holy Britannian Empire, an imperial monarchy and a superpower that has been conquering various countries for centuries. Lelouch vi Britannia, the Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire, alongside his blinded and crippled younger sister Nunnally, was exiled to Japan by his father, Emperor Charles zi Britannia, who wages war against Japan and makes it a colony of the Empire known as "Area 11." After gaining the power called "Geass" with power of absolute obedience by making contract with a mysterious woman C.C., Lelouch starts his journey of revenge, leading a military organization known as the Order of the Black Knights to rebel against the empire.

Close Contenders for The Ultimate Good[]

Lelouch vi Britannia[]

Lelouch

The main protagonist of the series, Lelouch vi Britannia is the founder and leader of Order of the Black Knights, a resistance force from Japan aiming at overthrowing the Holy Britannian Empire. Taking the identity of the mysterious vigilante Zero, Lelouch uses his geass ability of mind control and command over Black Knights to fight against Britannia in order to overthrow the Empire and create a better world for his sister and friends. After defeating Charles and Schneizel, he organized the Zero Requiem, sacrificing his life to stop wars and bring peace to the world.

Lelouch easily stands out as the most admirable and influential hero in the series, but he is too inconsistent in his heroism to meet the TUG criteria, being a Grey Zoned Anti-Hero/Anti-Villain, has committed various heinous crimes in order to achieve his goals. Despite redeeming himself in the end, his villainous deeds are enough to pass the Code Geass franchise's heinous standard to the point of being Inconsistently Heinous.

C.C.[]

C.C.

C.C. is the mysterious immortal woman who gave Lelouch Geass ability of controlling mind, being the reason why Lelouch is able to use Geass ability to achieve his goals. C.C. has been working alongside Lelouch and saved him multiple times when he is in danger. After Leloich sacrificed himself in Zero Requiem, she resurrected him by reuniting Lelouch's soul with his body.

However, she is not as influential as Lelouch and Euphemia, since most of the time she is just aiding Lelouch's plan and helping him achieve his goal. And while C.C. is not that as heinous as Lelouch, she is still a morally apathetic Anti-Hero who does whatever she wants even if it would cause serious trouble, such as using Mao as a pawn and driving him insane.

Suzaku Kururugi[]

Suzaku

Suzaku Kururugi is the son of Japan's last Prime Minister and the childhood friend of Lelouch. He chooses to fight the Britannia Empire in the hope of reforming it from within, and thus becomes an enemy of Lelouch and Black Knights. However after making peace of Lelouch, he aided Lelouch in his Zero Requiem, disguising as Zero to assassinate Emperor Lelouch, stopping wars and bringing peace to the world.

Despite his actions, he is still too inconsistent and morally gray to meet the TUG criteria. He spends lots of his screentime being an antagonist who willingly fights for Britannia despite them being the ones who subjugated his people, supressing against Zero and Black Knights despite knowing they are the ones trying to liberate Japan, all in hopes of climbing in rank until he has enough power to demand Japan's liberation.

Nunnally vi Britannia[]

Nunnally

Nunnally vi Britannia is Lelouch's younger sister who was blinded and crippled by Charles before being exiled to Japan. Alongside Euphemia, Nunnally is one of the few heroes in the series who is not an anti-heroic or grey zoned character, being a kind-hearted pacifist who shows no prejudice towards the Japanese. After being appointed as Viceroy in Japan, she does all she can to make life better for the Elevens.

Despite her nobleness and admirable deeds, she still fails to Euphemia in influence. Compared with Euphemia who proactively takes actions to try to bring peace to the world, Nunnally is very passive in her heroic roles, being used as a pawn of Schneizel as a means manipulate Lelouch and achieve Schneizel's goal.
