The Ultimate Good heroes who protect the entire universe. These characters come from a story that is limited to a single universe. These characters represent the protection of all life in the universe. Depending on the story being told, universes often comprise billions, and possibly even trillions of galaxies. These galaxies contain billions of stars with an almost limitless amount of planets. These planets are usually inhabited by innumerable lives from the entire cosmos.

A universe can also be made up of different planes of existences such as a physical plane, spiritual plane, or any other planes that are all connected together to make up the universe as a whole. This also includes universes that have a defined afterlife plane that is a part of the universe. Each of these planes are vital to what makes up the universe and vital to its stability and order. This is not the same as a multiverse as this is a single universe being made up of different planes; while a multiverse is made up of a collection of universes. A hero can reach this level of protection if they are trying to protect one plane of the universe that is important to protecting all of it.

For a protection to be universal:

  1. The setting of the story must include different worlds outside of the main setting of the story (e.g. planets, galaxies, and different areas within the universe itself).
  2. The protection must either encompass most of these worlds in the universe enough to be significant to the entire universe or protection to all worlds within the universe.
  3. It must be made abundantly clear via the hero, context of the story, or both that the hero is a protection to the universe itself than one world or a galaxy.

Being on one singular physical world that is interconnected to a spiritual world does not count since that spiritual world is important towards making up the entirety of that specific world in that setting. Simply originating from a spiritual plane that is interconnected to the physical plane of that specific world does not constitute protection to the entire universe unless it is made abundantly clear that the whole universe will be protected. Otherwise, a protection like that is only regulated to the singular world that it takes place in and not the entire universe.

Depending on the particular work, a single universe can be the omniverse itself if it is the only universe in existence, which makes some of these characters stand out as being a protection to all of existence.

Because of the protection these characters represent, they are often the noblest character to appear.
