Bigweld is the overarching protagonist of Blue Sky's 2nd animated film Robots.
He is the world's greatest inventor who wanted to create fantastic inventions to provide a better life for all robots. However, he begins to lose his way when he hires Phineas T. Ratchet, who wants to create upgrades for profits rather than creating inventions. It isn't until Rodney Copperbottom decides to fight against Ratchet's genocidal plan that Bigweld regained his determination to create a better life for robots, officially crowning Rodney as his official successor once he gets too old to continue working at Bigweld Industries.
He was voiced by Mel Brooks.

- He is one of the most admirable characters in the movie, being responsible for creating the spare parts that characters need to survive and distributing them to robots all over the world to help outmodes who can't afford upgrades, also inspiring several outmodes that they can do whatever they want regardless of who they are, including Rodney Copperbottom, who wanted to become an inventor just like Bigweld after hearing his positive words.
- His influence is massive as he is the greatest inventor in the world that inspired countless inventors and outmodes to show him their ideas to make the world better, plus being responsible for inspiring Rodney into wanting to be an inventor, making him responsible for Rodney's heroism and eventually taking him in as his successor after respecting his bravery and heroics.
- He is one of the most intelligent characters in the film, due to him being the greatest inventor in the world that has vast knowledge on how robots work, and also having business knowledge that allows him to run Bigweld Industries well for over a decade before Ratchet took over.
- He is quite powerful, due to him being the head of Bigweld Industries with Rodney as his eventual successor, giving him high authority not just in Robot City, but the whole world too.
