Antares Squadron are the main protagonists of the video game Ace Combat: Joint Assault. They are a group of four pilots for the Martinez Security PMC. During the Valahia crisis, they joined the IUPF to stop said terrorist organization and ended up putting an end to the conflict.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Although their performance depends on the player, they have the reputation of skilled military pilots, to the point where they, like other Ace Combat protagonists, are feared by some of their enemies.
- With Joint Assault taking place in a separate continuity, they have little competition in terms of influence and are easily the most admirable characters of the game in terms of heroic achievements, having stopped Nicolae Dumitrescu's terrorist attacks on many cities as well as nuclear bombardment of Europe and North America. After learning of Andre Olivieri's involvement in the crisis, as well as his Golden Axe Plan, they stop him from executing it.
- While pretty much lacking any kind of personality, they are still unambiguously heroic, as they, despite being mercenaries, do everything in their power to fight evil, unlike the Rigel Squadron who switched sides for the sake of getting more money. It should be noted that Antares could have potentially followed their example, but didn't.
