Amphibia

The Ultimate Good of Amphibia.

Amphibia was an animated series created by Matt Braly and aired on Disney Channel from 2019 to 2022 running for three seasons and upcoming novel series set to release soon. Out of all the heroic characters in the series, Anne Boonchuy stands out as the most influential.

Plot

In the beginning of the series, Anne Boonchuy is convinced by her friends Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu to steal a music box from an antique store. However, unbeknownst to her, when she opens the box, it sends all three girls to the world of Amphibia which is filled with sapient frogs, toads, newts, and other amphibians. Anne winds up living with the Plantar family; Marcy ends up in Newtopia; and Sasha becomes the second-in-command in Captain Grime's toad army.

Season 2 begins the girls' journey to unravel the mystery of the music box which leads to Andrias sending them off to three temples to charge the gems. However, it is revealed that Andrias was evil all along and intends on invading not just Anne's world, but all worlds. Season 2 also introduces the Core, a mechanical abomination comprised of the minds of the several former rulers of Newtopia. It is also revealed that Marcy knew the truth behind the Calamity Box but when she learned that her parents were intending on moving, in her desperation, she tracks down the Calamity Box.

Season 3 starts off with Anne back on Earth as she tried to hide the existence of the Plantars from Mr. X before returning to Amphibia to rally the resistance against Andrias.

Close Contender for the Ultimate Good

The Guardian

One of the overarching protagonists of the show, the Guardian watches the entire multiverse and is the creator of the Calamity Gems. After Anne sacrifices herself to destroy the Core, the Guardian makes a "backup" of Anne, invites her to replace them as they find Anne admirable, and leaves Anne a small shard of the Calamity Gems.

While the Guardian is easily the most powerful character thanks to the creation of the Calamity Gems and has moral agency, the Guardian cannot be the Ultimate Good because the Guardian itself takes a neutral stance in the usage of the Calamity Gems as they want to test how mortals will use such power, after the abuse of the Calamity Gems' power happened. It is Anne who stops the Core from abusing such power, and the Guardian admires Anne's actions.
