Miles Edgeworth Anime

The Ultimate Good of Ace Attorney.

The Ace Attorney franchise has introduced many admirable and noble heroes across its several installments, but only one of them truly qualifies as the Ultimate Good of the franchise, Miles Edgeworth. To learn more about him, visit his page here.

Plot[]

Ace Attorney is a series that mostly revolves around main protagonist, Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney who followed this path in life due to believing that there needs to be someone there for others when no one else will help them, taking him on several adventures across his time in the series ranging from defeating simple criminals to defeating the king of prosecutors himself, Manfred von Karma. The series has spawned multiple sequels since the Original Trilogy concluded that stars multiple other protagonists such as Apollo Justice, Miles Edgeworth himself, Athena Cykes and Ryunosuke Naruhodo, with their own stories to tell.

Close Contenders for The Ultimate Good[]

Phoenix Wright[]

Phoenix has certainly left a ton of admirability and influence on the series, defeating several heinous villains such as Redd White, Manfred von Karma and The Phantom, saving several lives across his time in the series and bringing hope to everyone around him, redeeming Miles Edgeworth and Franziska von Karma from being corrupt prosecutors into selfless heroes, repeatedly saving the lives of his allies and ultimately being the one to cause the entirety of Apollo Justice due to his past with Kristoph Gavin driving the story behind the game, plus taking Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes under his wing in the 5th and 6th games respectively.

While definitely admirable and influential enough, Phoenix fails in power to Edgeworth himself as Edgeworth is chief prosecutor with tons of influence and authority, while Phoenix is only a defense attorney and never goes past that.

Mia Fey[]

Mia has an incredible amount of influence over the series due to mentoring Phoenix into becoming who he is, her past with Dahlia Hawthorne causing the events of Trials & Tribulations, and indirectly leading to Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes being put under Phoenix's wing and having Godot's philosophy past down onto them after she passed it onto Phoenix herself directly. She is also one of the most admirable heroes in the series too, defeating Dahlia Hawthorne and proving Phoenix's innocence, mentoring Phoenix into becoming a competent defense attorney that saved a lot of lives, defeating Redd White and ending his mass blackmailing scheme that resulted in dozens to hundreds of deaths and playing a large role in the defeats of Matt Engarde and the second defeat of Dahlia Hawthorne.

Despite her extreme influence and admirability, Mia suffers from the same issue as Phoenix of not being powerful enough to qualify as TUG, due to only being a defense attorney and never evolving past that enough to fit the criteria.

Godot[]

Godot holds the biggest amount of influence out of everyone in the series, due to him inspiring Mia not to give up on being a defense attorney, which caused a massive domino effect of goodness across the series with Mia, Phoenix, Apollo and Athena not being who they are without Godot's influence and everything they did would most likely have never happened either. He is quite admirable for his influence and defeating Dahlia Hawthorne, plus being a helpful but still reluctant ally to Phoenix across the span of the third game.

Godot however fails in power as while he is a prosecutor, he never becomes chief prosecutor like Miles Edgeworth and he never ascends to anything higher then that, plus he suffers from committing villainous actions such as being willing to kill a 9 year old girl for revenge and risking Iris being convicted for a crime he knows she is innocent of just for the sake of besting Phoenix Wright.

Apollo Justice[]

Apollo was one of the most admirable characters in the franchise with a decent amount of influence to go with it, playing a key part in the beginning to the end of The Dark Age of Law, proving Phoenix Wright's innocence in his diary page forgery accusation, allowing him to return to being a defense attorney once again and continue protecting lives, defeating Kristoph Gavin, who was one of the two key members in upstarting the Dark Age of Law, bringing an end to Ga'ran's reign of terror over Khura'in by risking his life to prove her guilty in the murder of her husband and taking on over a hundred retrials all by himself in order to give all the defendants just verdicts.

Despite his immense admirability and decent influence, Apollo once again suffers from the issue of not being powerful enough compared to other characters in the series due to only being a defense attorney and nothing more then that.

Ryunosuke Naruhodo[]

Ryunosuke was extremely admirable for saving London from a societal collapse, solving the Professor Killings and ending London's unjust racism towards the Japanese, defeating Mael Stronghart and ending The Reaper's Curse, fixing London's corrupt legal system in the process and starting his own law firm in Japan with Susato Mikotoba in order to create a better future for Japan's legal system.

Despite his admirablity, Ryunosuke fails in power for the same reasons stated above and in overall influence of the franchise, he not only fails to Herlock Sholmes in his own duology, he fails to other major characters such as Phoenix, Miles, Mia and even Apollo in influence due to them playing major roles in the events of their respective games, while Ryunosuke is more of a side character that isn't too involved in the events of his duology.

Herlock Sholmes[]

Being the Bigger Good of The Great Ace Attorney duology, Herlock holds a good amount of influence over it with him being responsible for a lot of the good events that come in the duology, such as mentoring Iris Wilson into what she is in the duology, convincing Ryunosuke to take Kazuma's spot on the London educational trip, starting the chain of events that would lead to the Professor Killings true culprit being revealed and ultimately being the one that revealed Stronghart as the mastermind behind the Reaper of the Bailey, he is also greatly admirable for the actions stated along with some other acts such as saving the main cast from being blown up by Enoch Drebber and capturing Seishiro Jigoku.

While influential and admirable, Herlock still fails in overall power to other characters due to lacking authority on Edgeworth's level and he still fails in influence to other characters due to only affecting his duology rather then multiple games.
